Pedifix Adjustable Bunion DaySplint – Aligns Big Toe to Reduce Hallux Valgus Pain

Pedifix Adjustable Bunion DaySplint keeps the big toe aligned to the correct position and helps reduce bunion pain. Gently stretches muscles and tendons to help slow Hallux Valgus progression. It maintains correct alignment, prevents friction, and relieves pressure between the first and second toes.

Pedifix Adjustable Bunion DaySplint is equipped with an elasticized arch bandage and a removable foam pad that provides extra cushioning. Thin design to fit comfortably in most shoes.

This unique splint can aid in healing post-operatively by controlling big toe alignment while allowing flexion and extension of the hallux. It makes wearing shoes more comfortable and reduces pressure on the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint. The elastic strap can be adjusted to achieve the desired tension.

Pedifix Adjustable Hallux Valgus DaySplint can be easily removed and properly re-applied. It’s recommended for use after surgical dressing removal. Comes in two sizes, small and large. It’s reusable and washable.

Directions on how to use the Pedifix Adjustable Bunion DaySplint:

Release the Velcro fastener on the bandage and unbutton the toe strap from the arch bandage to custom fit the DaySplint. Position the nylon cap over the big toe. The white cushion goes over the bunion.

With Velcro pieces on the bottom, wrap the wide band around the middle of the foot. The Velcro (on the middle band) should be adjusted so the band fits snugly around the middle of the foot. Position the oval foam pad directly over the bunion by sliding the toe cap over the big toe. Note: If you find the foam pad uncomfortable, it can be removed.

The strap should be pulled down along the inside of the foot, directly through the opening in the bandage. Wrap the strap around the heel and up the outside of the foot. Make sure the strap is tight enough to comfortably straighten the big toe by choosing one of the holes on the end of it and buttoning it. You can trim the Velcro fastener or the end of the toe strap carefully with scissors if they are too long.

Initially, limit usage periods to 30 minutes. As your comfort level improves, you may wear the splint for longer periods and gradually increase the band tension.

Results will vary according to the severity and nature of the bunion condition. When worn regularly, the splint can help reduce discomfort and pain and slow down the progression of the bunion deformity.

Wearing the Pedifix bunion splint post-operatively can maintain the alignment of the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint until healing is complete, either with the surgical dressing or after it is removed.

Care:

The Pedifix Adjustable Bunion Splint can be hand-washed with warm water and mild soap. Make sure to thoroughly rinse after washing. Remove excess moisture with a clean towel, then air dry completely away from direct heat or sunlight before reusing.
