Cleaning & Sterilizing Instructions

There are many ways to safely clean and sterilize the Unimom Mezzo Manual Hand Breast Pump, among them are the following:

1. Bench Top – wash the parts in hot soapy water then place them onto a clean drying rack. Pour boiling water over the lot then leave to air dry or shake dry.
2. Dishwasher – Put the pump parts inside the dishwasher but make sure they are not near the element. Leave them in for steam dry. Make sure that no food residue is stuck in the pump’s shield part.
3. Stove Top – Place the parts in a pot, cover with water, then boil for 2 minutes. Boiling time should not exceed 2 minutes to prevent damage/accidents.

All breast shield parts should be sterilized. For milk back-flow protector unit does not come in contact with milk, it can be washed every after 2 days. Make sure to wash and dry the unit well if it is left sitting for more than 2 days. After submerging the air tube in the water, drain out all the drips and dry the tube completely by hanging it up.

Caution

Sterilizing the pump with a microwave comes with risks. If you choose to microwave, do not sterilize for more than 2 minutes to avoid damage. Using chemicals to clean the unit can also cause the plastic material to deteriorate faster.

Tips for Moms

Warranty Information: Pump warranties are based on the type of use. The Unimom Mezzo Manual Hand Breast pump should be used at home for personal use. This pump unit is covered by a 12-month warranty, which includes the motor unit and controller (everything inside or permanently connected to the plastic shell of the actual pump unit).

The warranty does not cover the following items: Tubing and hose, Power packs and cables (only for Allegro and Minuet models), Valve Heads, Breast Shields, Catch Bottles, or Silicon Massagers. In the case of the Unimom Mezzo, there is no motor and it is made up of consumable parts, so it is not covered by a warranty. You can find replacements for consumable parts at your local store.
