How to Assemble the Veridian Self-Taking Blood Pressure Home Kit

1. Insert the single end of the tube into the stem of the chestpiece. Insert the metal ends of the binaural into the “Y” end of the tube.
2. Attach the gauge to the tube located on the left part of the chestpiece then the inflation bulb to the tube on the right part.
3. After assembling, make sure that the white artery patch is located outside and the chestpiece n the inside of the arm cuff. If properly folded, the hook and loop will be on the outside of the cuff.

Directions on how to use the Self-Taking Blood Pressure Home Kit

1. Sit on a chair with a table/desk to lay your arm and with your feet flat on the floor.
2. Extend your left arm and find your brachial artery.
3. Open the cuff and create a circle where you can slide your arm without extending the cuff beyond the metal ring.
4. Insert your left arm into the cuff and position the cuff properly with the bottom edge a half-inch above your elbow. Make sure that the chestpiece is directly touching your brachial artery.
5. While your arm is extended, your palm facing upward, and the tubes positioned down the center of your arm, secure the cuff through its hook and loop closure.
6. Make sure the cuff fitted snugly into your arm. For the best fit, you should be able to insert a finger between the cuff and your arm.
7. Fit the earpieces securely in your ears. If necessary, adjust the binaural to find the most comfortable fit.
8. Position the gauge in an area where it can’t be moved. With your free hand, hold the inflation bulb and close the air release valve.
9. Pump the inflation bulb slowly and steadily to inflate the cuff until the gauge reads 30 mmHG ABOVE your last known SYSTOLIC measurement. If you do not know your last known SYSTOLIC measurement, inflate to approximately 180-200 mmHg. NEVER INFLATE THE CUFF ABOVE 280 mmHg
10. As you reach the proper inflation level, slowly and steadily turn the air valve counter-clockwise at a rate of 2-3 mmHg per second.
11. As pressure drops, listen to your pulse beat while watching the gauge. The first thumping sound is your SYSTOLIC pressure.
12. Let the cuff deflate until there is no sound at all. As soon as you hear the last sound, the reading measurement reflected on the gauge is your DIASTOLIC pressure.
13. Turn the valve counter-clockwise to deflate the remaining air. Remove the cuff and record the measurement on the chart included in the package.

Care Instructions

Do not use any liquid on the kit. Do not store in direct sunlight, dust or humidity. Do not disassemble the gauge or cuff. Avoid dropping or hitting the gauge and chestpiece.
