Directions on how to use the Drive Medical Transfer Bench with Sliding Seat
To assemble:
- Remove all contents from the box.
- Place the bench frame on its side. Unfold a leg section by extending it in an outward direction. Wait for the locking pins to snap and protrude through the holes to secure.
- Repeat step #2 for the second leg section.
- Stand the bench upright and insert the backrest on the receptacle at the back of the seat. Push the backrest firmly to secure it in place.
- Attach the red handle by inserting it into the two receptacle holes located on the side of the seat. The curve of the handle should be facing outwards. Secure the handle by inserting the two red locking knobs from the bottom and turning them clockwise until tight.
- Insert the soap dish on the same side as the handle by sliding it into the middle receptacle from the top down.
To operate:
- Place the transfer bench into the tub with the suction cup feet inside the tub.
NOTE: You may switch the legs with the suction cup to the other side if you prefer for the seat to face the opposite way.
- Adjust the height of the legs by depressing the push pins and setting them to your desired height. The legs on both sides must be on the same level taking into consideration that the legs inside the tub should be in the lower position because of the height difference between the tub and the floor.
- To move the seat, pull the red positioning lever under the seat away from the frame then slide the seat until you hear it click into place. You can position the seat in two places – on the left and the right side.
To fold:
- Stand the bench vertically on one set of legs.
- On the other side of the leg assembly, pull the red locking levers away from the frame at the same time until both of the locking pins disengage.
- Fold the legs down.
- Turn the bench over and repeat steps 1-3 for the other set of legs.
- Remove the backrest, soap dish, and handle if necessary.
Caution
Make sure that the seat is on one of the lock positions if entering or exiting the shower using this transfer bench.
Care
Wipe with a clean cloth to remove dirt and excess water. Dry completely before storage and whenever not in use.
