The product is made of medical-grade materials carefully designed to address the issues commonly encountered by patients who are under treatment for their diabetic ulcers. Its lightweight and breathable material promotes patient comfort and makes walking, standing, and other activities more tolerable.

The DJO PROCARE Off-Loading Diabetic Shoe has a square toe and a wide footbed to accommodate wound dressings. It has an Impax Grid tri-laminate insole with removable Impax foam blocks to help redistribute the load away from ulcers.

The DJO PROCARE Off-loading Diabetic Shoe also features a reinforced toe cover. This cover protects the foot against external aggressions, but at the same time allows easy access to the treatment area.

The DJO PROCARE Off-Loading Diabetic Shoe has a seamless design which makes it very effective in eliminating the possibility of skin breakdown. The shoe can be worn on either the right or left foot and can be paired with any regular shoe.

Directions on how to use the DJO PROCARE Off-Loading Diabetic Shoe

Preparation: Treat and dress diabetic ulcers properly, and if possible, wear socks over dressings.

Application: Remove the insole and place its blue side against the patient’s plantar area. Locate and remove the pre-cut foam cubes from the insole around the wound area. Re-insert the foam back to its original location in the diabetic shoe then slip the dressed foot inside.

To close the shoe, start by applying the tongue first along the foot’s length. Close both sides of the shoe aver the tongue and lock the shoe using the adjustable strap around the ankle.

Care Instructions

To clean the shoe and insole, handwash using soapy warm water or wipe with and damp cloth. If you prefer washing, make sure to rinse the shoe thoroughly to prevent residual soap which could cause skin irritation or early deterioration of the shoe.

This product should be worn or removed as instructed or supervised by a healthcare specialist. Never allow the barefoot to contact the innersole directly. If pain, swelling, added irritation, or other unusual skin reaction occur, contact your healthcare specialist immediately.
