Directions on how to use the DJO PROCARE Off-Loading Diabetic Shoe

Preparation: Treat and dress diabetic ulcers properly, and if possible, wear socks over dressings.

Application: Remove the insole and place its blue side against the patient’s plantar area. Locate and remove the pre-cut foam cubes from the insole around the wound area. Re-insert the foam back to its original location in the diabetic shoe then slip the dressed foot inside.

To close the shoe, start by applying the tongue first along the foot’s length. Close both sides of the shoe aver the tongue and lock the shoe using the adjustable strap around the ankle.

Care Instructions

To clean the shoe and insole, handwash using soapy warm water or wipe with and damp cloth. If you prefer washing, make sure to rinse the shoe thoroughly to prevent residual soap which could cause skin irritation or early deterioration of the shoe.
