Directions on how to install the Drive Medical Chrome Knurled Grab Bar

NOTE: The flanges of the grab bar must be aligned to mount to wall studs. The wood screws must go through the wall tile or board and attach to wall studs for support. For plastic tub and shower enclosures, drill through the wall and install a grab bar to wall studs.

1. Place the grab bar on the wall in line with the wall studs and mark the locations for the screw holes. After deciding on the type of attachment, drill a small hole to confirm the location of the stud.

Note: Wood screws should only be used for wooded wall studs.

2. Determine for each flange whether to use wood screws or toggle bolts. At least two wood screws in each flange must be attached to wall studs or the grab bar may pull out and could result in serious injury.
3. Drill through tile or grout. Drill a small pilot hole into wood studs if you are using wood screws.
4. Once holes are drilled, place the grab bar on the wall and attach it with a wood screw. If you are using toggle bolts, ensure that the bolt is attached to the grab bar flange before being forced into the hole. NOTE: Use caulking around grab bar flanges to prevent moisture from seeping in.
5. Use a screwdriver to tighten all bolts and screws. Check for tightness.

Care Instructions

Use mild soap and warm water to clean the grab bar. Dry after each use.

Check regularly for tightness. Never use the grab bar if any looseness is detected as it could result in personal injury.
