Directions on how to use the Stander CouchCane Standing Aid

Stand the stationary tube upright. Insert the upright bolt through the large hole in the plastic cover located at the base of the stationary tube. Tighten the bolt using the provided Allen head wrench.
To properly connect the handle assembly to the stationary tube, ensure that the handle assembly bushing is fully inserted into the stationary tube. This can be achieved by pushing the handle assembly down until the spring-loaded button passes all the holes in the stationary tube. Keep pressing down on the handle assembly until it firmly engages with the stationary tube. Once the handle assembly bushing is securely in place, adjust the handle assembly’s height to your preference by pressing the spring-loaded button and moving the handle assembly up or down.
Position the assembled product next to the couch or chair you intend to use it with. Adjust the base adjustment tube to the appropriate length so that the furniture legs align with the rubber pads on both the base adjustment tube and the base stationary tube.
Ensure that the base stationary tube and base adjustment tube are correctly spaced to center the furniture legs both front to back and side to side on the rubber pads of the product’s base.

Regularly check if the feet of the chair or couch is centered on the base feet or close to the base tube.

Which types of chairs are compatible with the Stander CouchCane?

The Stander CouchCane is compatible with most chairs. It is designed to work with four-legged couches, sofas, chairs, lift chairs, or recliners. To secure it in place, the front and rear legs of the chair must rest on top of the CouchCane’s base pads. The CouchCane can be adjusted in depth to accommodate chair leg depths ranging from 20″ to 36″, but it is not intended for free-standing use.

Please note that if your chair does not have four legs, has a round base, or has leg depths outside the 20″-36″ range, the CouchCane will not be compatible with your chair. Before purchasing, we recommend measuring the distance between the front and rear legs of your chair to ensure it falls within the 20″-36″ compatibility range.

Does the chair feet sit on the outside or inside base pads?

You have the flexibility to place the chair feet either on the outside or inside base pads of the CouchCane, depending on your personal preference. The choice of placement will affect the position of the handle.

Can I attach a tray table to the CouchCane?

The CouchCane does not have an accessory tray table available. If you are interested in a tray table option, consider upgrading to the Stander Assist-A-Tray. This alternative product features the same assist handle as the CouchCane and also includes a swiveling tray for added convenience.
